Hello lovelies,
It’s the weekend again; my how time flies. Today’s post is a simple tutorial on how to transition your makeup look from day to night.
So the scenario here is that you’re off to work but have a gathering or event to attend right after BUT want to spice up your look. Here’s just a few simple things you can do:
Daytime Look
Eyes
- Wear soft colours on your eyelid during the day to contrast the look you’ll do later on. Think soft pinks, browns or even a tiny bit of gold will work. If using gold, go for a Satin finish as Frost can be too dramatic for daytime/office wear.
- Apply a bit of brown in your crease to define it; choose a shade that works for your skin tone.
- Line your water line with a brown pencil
- Apply a coat of mascara
Face
- Apply your foundation and powder
- Apply a soft shade of blush
Lips
- Line your lips and apply a gloss or soft shade of lipstick
Evening Look
Eyes
- Apply a darker shade of eyeshadow in the outer ‘V’ of your eyes and blend into the crease slightly; you can use dark brown or black shadow for this
- Deepen the colour on the eyelid in the same shade you used earlier, or you can apply a similar colour in a different Finish if you like
- Apply black liner on your top and bottom water line
- Using a pencil brush or smudger brush, apply a bit of the same dark shadow you used in your outer ‘V’ and smudge it gently to soften
- Line the top of the eyes near the lash line to create a cat eye or smudge a bit of black shadow in this area instead
- Apply mascara liberally
Face
- Clean up under the eyes with a bit of concealer, this will also brighten the eye area
- Touch up foundation if necessary
- Set the face and remove shine with a bit of pressed powder
- Apply a bit more blush and contour if you have time
Lips
- Line lips and apply a complimentary shade of lipstick that does not clash with the rest of your makeup
I hope you enjoyed today’s post; I will follow up with another one showing the transition via photos as I do each step.
